Kristel Castro is a junior chemical engineering student from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and a member of the Lewis Honors College. She is actively involved across campus through organizations such as SWE and AIChE, where she currently serves as the DanceBlue officer chair. Kristel also serves as a Resident Advisor, works at the Innovation Center, and is involved as an International Ambassador.
Last summer, Kristel completed an engineering internship with Catalent Pharma Solutions, where she gained hands-on industry experience and further developed her interest in process engineering and large-scale manufacturing processes. Outside of academics, she enjoys painting, playing basketball, and spending time with friends. As an international student, Kristel values the welcoming environment she has found within the College of Engineering, where she has been able to grow both academically and personally.
