Lauren Prewitt is from Lexington, KY and is majoring in Mining Engineering with a minor in Business. Lauren is actively involved in the UK community. In addition to being a student ambassador for the Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, she also serves as the Public Relations Chair for the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, and a member of the SME/NSSGA Student Design Competition. In her addition to involvement in campus organizations, Lauren has also had internship experience at Blackhawk Mining as a Surface Mining Engineer Intern, Hinkle Contracting as a Mining Engineer Intern, and Wirtgen Group as a Kleemann Product Support Intern. Outside of her academic pursuits, Lauren enjoys going to heated workout classes, taking her dogs for walks, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
